How Badly Do You Want To Lose Weight?

There is an old story about a great pianist who was approached after a performance by a middle-aged woman who said something like the following, “I play the piano too, but nowhere near as well as you. I would give anything to be able to play like you.”

To which the pianist replied along this line, “No you wouldn’t, because if you really wanted to play like me, you would have already given everything and you would play like me.”

Kind of blunt and in-your-face, but a valid point.

A Discussion of Yoga for Arthritis

In this article, I will attempt to set the record straight on the subject of yoga for arthritis.

One major problem with arthritis is the fact that it tends to rob the individual of a certain sense of freedom and of control. It often occurs later in life when the individual is already beginning to see other negative changes in lifestyle and capabilities. Adding the nagging and/or excruciating and sometimes seemingly random pain of arthritis and lack of mobility can be almost devastating for many people.

How To Make Exercise Easy

I just want to make a couple of points about this idea of making exercise easy before I get into the rest of the article.

1. A level of exercise that is relatively easy, yet effective, at one stage of your personal fitness or weight loss program may be worthless at another stage.

2. Exercise is one of those things where you get back what you put in, in terms of health, fitness, weight loss, energy, or combinations of those.

In other words, what is “easy” exercise for you might not be what is easy for your neighbor, or vice versa. Also, what is “easy” exercise for you when you begin it may provide you rewards

in terms of health, fitness, weight loss, or energy at first. However, if you stay with that easy exercise, eventually your body will make changes within itself, and it will be necessary to adjust upwards.

Walking For Weight Loss

It is a generally well accepted fact that exercise burns calories and can increase the overall health of both body and mind. Most of us also recognize that walking is one of the simplest and most effective exercises for weight loss and health. What many people don’t realize is that they might not be getting the most effective returns on their efforts. It actually requires just a little tweaking of a simple walking program to make it more effective as a weight loss program.

Many experts recommend a minimum of 30 minutes of sustained physical activity every day for health. However, 30 minutes of walking a day, while it may initially cause some welcome and

I’m Packing My Home Gym To Take On Vacation

In two days, my wife and I are leaving on a three week vacation to California. We are going to visit some of her relatives in the Sacramento area and then I’m going to show her Monterey, where I was stationed in the 60’s and again in the 80’s. Then we will visit more relatives in Arizona and return home to Texas. We have also started to get into rock hunting, so we may do a little of that as well.

As always, I want to keep my exercise program as up to date as possible, so I am taking my home gym equipment with me. Excuse me a moment while I put it in
